Self tanners are always a good way to get a tan. It's the healthiest way to be tan, because they don't damage your skin at all. The only problem with self tanning lotions is that they can be orange, smelly, streaky, and stain your clothes. So, using a higher quality tanning lotion is worth it.
I had been hearing good things about Million Dollar Tan, so I couldn't wait to try out a bottle of their Cabana Tan Extreme Dark Sunless Tanning Lotion. All Million Dollar Tanning products are water based, organically made and free of parabens and any other gross additives. It doesn't clog pores, so you can use this lotion on your face as well as your body without having to worry about breaking out. One 8 oz bottle is $38, but right now they have a buy one get one free deal, which is a real steal. You can also use the code krystal20 for 20% off the retail price.
My skin is actually very pale right now because I haven't tanned in months. So, the tan that you see on my legs is all thanks to Million Dollar Tan. Before applying the tanning lotion, I did as the directions said on the bottle and applied body lotion to my hands, elbows, knees, and feet, since those places are especially dry and will absorb more tanning lotion than other areas. Then I applied the tanning lotion all over and rubbed it in as I would a normal lotion. The tanning lotion has a light scent, but doesn't smell like typical sunless tanning products.
The lotion almost instantly dries, so you don't have to wait to put your clothes on or worry about staining your clothes. The color develops in up to 6 hours. I found that the color is a lot darker and I was noticeably more tan, than when I use other high end tanning lotions. I didn't streak or have any blotchy spots at all. It is recommended to use this tanning lotion once a week, but you can use it more often for an even darker tan. I tried applying the lotion a couple of days after the first application, and I found that the color was a little too orange on my skin. So, I wouldn't recommend applying more than once a week unless you already have tan skin. I also found that even with one application the color lasts a long time, at least a week, unlike other high end tanning lotions which seem to disappear after a couple of days.
Overall, Million Dollar Tan is now one of my favorite tanning lotions, because of it's long lasting color and dark natural pigment.
