Clouds by Robin Jones Gunn

Clouds is about a young woman named Shelley, who can't seem to forget about her first and only true love, Jonathan. Jonathan and her were best friends growing up and as they got older they started to develop feelings for each other. One day, Jonathan proposed to her, but Shelley had other plans of traveling the world as a flight attendant and wasn't about to give them up, so they went their separate ways. Many years later, God has brought them back into each others lives. The only problem is Jonathan is now engaged with another woman.

After reading Echoes by Robin Jones Gunn, I was eager to read another book by her. Her writing style is fun, quickly gets my interest and keeps it until the very last page. Clouds was no different. Clouds is actually the 5th book of The Glenbrooke Series, but you do not need to read the other books to follow this one. Some of the characters from the other books do make an appearance around the end of the book, so if you have read the other books in the series then you will appreciate this.

I can easily relate to the main character Shelley, as she is afraid to tell Jonathan her true feelings. The story is surprisingly unpredictable. I really wasn't sure what was going to happen throughout the book. The story contains a theme throughout about how God brings people together and everything happens for a reason. The book overall, isn't all that inspirational, but is a great book if you are looking for a romantic, easy-to-read, feel good story.

I would recommend this book to others, and can't wait to read many more lovely stories by Robin Jones Gunn.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the mentioned book from the Blogging for Books program for the purpose of an honest review. I did not receive any form of monetary compensation for this post. All opinions are 100% mine.
